SETD Seeks Volunteers for Transportation Advisory Committee

Sunset Empire Transportation District Board of Commissioners (SETD) is seeking volunteer applicants from Clatsop County who would like to serve on the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC advises the District’s Board on issues involving the Districts transportation plans, grants, policies and programs with a special emphasis on access for senior and disabled riders. Representation on the TAC is sought from senior and disabled residents, others knowledgeable in the public transportation needs of residents or employees within the Transit District, local governments including land use planners, neighboring transit providers, employers, public health, low income individuals, social equity advocates, and residents with limited English proficiency, educational institutes and major destination users of public transit. The TAC committee is comprised of a total of 7 community members which are appointed by the SETD Board, an appointed SETD Board member and SETD staff. Terms of office are 1 or 2 years and begin in July and go through June 30 accordingly. Responsibilities include a working knowledge of SETD’s plans, policies and programs; attending the scheduled meetings, making decisions when necessary and serving on subcommittees as needed. TAC meetings are generally held quarterly. Applications are available at the Astoria Transit Center at 900 Marine Drive in Astoria, Seaside Transit Kiosk 1111 N.
