Sunset Empire Transportation District Requests Community Input

Sunset Empire Transportation District has a new goal! More public engagement, input, and participation at the SETD Board Meetings, Committee Meetings and during other projects. Executive Director Hazen announced, “We want to improve our connection to current rider’s, future rider’s and all who live in Clatsop County by encouraging them to attend and participate in our meetings, but we also want to make sure we schedule our meetings at a date and time that will allow easier access to them as well.” SETD currently schedules their monthly Board of Commissioner’s Meetings on the fourth Thursday of every month starting at 9:00 a.m. Executive Director Hazen explained “We are asking the public to help us by participating in a survey that will provide us with the specific information we need to make changes to our meeting schedules.” The SETD Meeting Survey is conveniently located on the SETD website at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TCDPPQR and will be available from April 27, 2021 through May 19, 2021. Survey results will be presented to the Board at the May 27, 2021 Board Meeting.  SETD provides Fixed Route and Seasonal bus services in Clatsop County as well as being a partner of NWCONNECTOR which provides seamless transportation between Portland, Astoria, and Cannon Beach with connections south along the Oregon Coast. SETD operates Paratransit Services, Dial a Ride Services, a Mobility Management program that engages with individual’s or group’s for Transit Training programs and a Transportation Options program that assists Columbia, Clatsop and Tillamook Counties with building and improving all modes of transportation. SETD is also providing scheduled transportation to local COVID Vaccine services and a shuttle service to the Clatsop County Covid Vaccine Clinics at the Fairgrounds and at the Old Seaside High School.
